My thoughts:
Wow, this story certainly has a lot going on! First we have a woman who was torn away from her family and was forced to live with a family who didn't love her, she ends up being deceived by a man who claimed to love her. Then, the issue of deceit continues throughout the book with different families and the consequences. I also found it very interesting to read about how Autism would have been misunderstood in the 50's and 60's. As a mother I understand Maggie's love and devotion to her daughter. I especially liked the details about the flower gardens and imagined myself walking through them and enjoying the butterflies with Libby.
