We left our dogs with our daughter in law when we went on a week long vacation. While our newest dog, Redford, has a few anxiety issues like being left at home and seeing strangers. When we came home she informed us that Redford was okay while she was home with him, but when she had to go to work he would freak out and run all over the house looking for us. She didn't mind cleaning up the dirt that spilled all over the floor every time in jumped in the planter in order to look out the office window but she did mind when she discovered the huge mess he made in the guest room one day. It seems he accidentally closed the guest room door on himself, being unable to get out caused him to panic and he proceeded to tear out the carpet, padding, and tacking strip in front of the door!  We had adopted Redford 4 months prior from the humane society after his owner had passed and he wouldn't leave the body. The poor boy is so loyal, that being torn from his original owner has left him with a separation anxiety problem that obviously needs addressed, that is where the Calmz Anxiety Relief System comes in.

The Calmz system came with an adjustable vest in a small size, a Calmz unit, instructions, and 3 AAA batteries. The vests come in XXS-XL sizes, the dog's girth needs to be measured in order to get the right size.

There is a pocket in the front of the vest where you insert the device, it is held in place with a hoop & loop fastener. The back of the unit is exposed through an opening that allows the device to rest on certain acupressure points on the dog’s spine. When the device is activated, the clinically proven takes over. Your dog will hear and feel a therapeutic melding of classical music, tones and vibrations that soothes anxiety within minutes. Pushing the blue power button starts the device's NeuroSync™ Technology. This technology combines vibrations, calming tones and classical music as a therapeutic way to relieve the dogs anxiety. The intensity of the vibration, the duration of time it runs, and the repeat button can be set by pushing the blue button until the right setting is reached.

Redford was a bit hesitant about the vest when we first put it on.
The first time we put the vest on Redford he was not too thrilled, he got over it pretty quick after being given a treat.  He wore it for several hours for a few days.

Redford is now comfortable with the Calmz device
Once he was used to wearing the vest we added the device, he was a bit startled when we turned the unit on for the first time but he adjusted within minutes and ended up taking a nap. We started with the lowest settings and worked our way up to the highest so he would be accustomed to the highest intensity before actually having to use it. We tested it by leaving him alone inside the house while we stayed outside, he went around looking for us but didn't whine or bark. The next test was a quick trip to the store so we increased the intensity and duration, when we came home he was happy to see us and nothing was destroyed. The biggest test came when we had to be gone half a day so we set it for the max settings. Again there was no destruction, just a very excited dog. Redford's anxiety has improved so much that we can leave him for longer periods of time without having to worry about him making a mess. I am so impressed with the Calmz Anxiety System that I am thinking about getting one for my little Yorkie, who stresses out during thunderstorms.

Vest is machine washable. Visit Calmz to learn more, view a video, or to order one for your dog.
