Raw Spice Bar is a monthly subscription plan where you receive 3 different flavor kits of flavorful spices from all over the world for $8 a month. Each flavor kit has been carefully blended for a specific regional theme by chefs and family recipes. To ensure freshness, the spices are not ground up until a few days before being shipped out. You will receive the 3 spice packets, 3 recipes- one per spice packet, a welcome card, and flavor kit explanation card. They recently added customized recipes for all types of diets, plus have included seasonal, freshly made flavor kits for sale individually! With these flavor kits you can create healthy, flavorful recipes without adding salt, sugar, fat or additives.

For the month of October I received the Oktoberfest Flavor kit that consisted of a Schnitzel Spices, Horseradish & Mustard Seed, and Caraway, Fennel & Anise Breed packets. The three spices each have a recipe card to help you make a delicious dish using each of the flavor packets.

I made the Horseradish & Mustard Cabbage recipe first because it seemed the easiest. Here I am roasting the seasoning packet of brown mustard seeds, yellow mustard seeds, and horseradish powder.

I chopped up a whole purple cabbage and diced up an onion. I added them to the horseradish & mustard seeds that had stopped popping. I added butter and salt cooking till the vegetables started to wilt. Covering the pan and lowering the heat to medium low, I cooked them till tender (approx. 11 minutes)

The purple cabbage cooked with the Horseradish & Mustard Seed Packet.

Dinner is served; steak and seasoned cabbage

He likes it, he really likes it!
This flavor packet really jazzed up the cabbage.  It was nice to have both my husband and son say that the cabbage was a very tasty side dish. I am glad to have another way to make cabbage a flavorful addition to our meals. I am excited to use the other two seasoning packets within the next couple of weeks and to see what the holiday packets consist of.  Every month you too can have a monthly spice box of exotic & global flavors sent to your home.
