For the past six years we have celebrated our wedding anniversary and Valentine's Day at the Renaissance Festival because it is so much fun, especially when you spend it with family. This year the festival runs from February through March giving people about 8 week-ends to enjoy the festivities. Some week-end have a theme such as Artisan Appreciation & Brew Fest, Pirate Invasion, and  Time Travellers. Brew Fest is this coming week-end March 4th & 5th. There are special days like Deaf Awareness where there were sign language interpreters (this is the day we attended) and The Queen's Birthday celebration which was Monday, February 17th. This year there were 2 Student days which is an educational day/field trip for school kids without the general public.

The Arizona Renaissance Festival is a medieval amusement park, a 14-stage theater, a 30-acre circus, an arts and crafts fair, a jousting tournament and a feast -- all rolled into one non-stop, all day family adventure!

Drinks to quench your thirst

 Food!

First thing my brother and son do? Why eat turkey legs, of course!

The 30 acre village has so much to do besides eat and drink. Besides seeing living mermaids and fairies, you can view a joust, children's knighting ceremony, and more. There's shopping, shows, and so much more.

My sister in law and I in front of some their beautiful glass work.

Every Year I make a point to pick up a souvenir from one of the shops to celebrate our anniversary, this year I chose a glass heart from Old Castle. I love it!

I also try to add an accessory or two to complete my outfit. This year I decided to get a corset and a chain mail necklace. I chose a bright blue to go with my burgundy colored dress. I have always had pleasant experiences in every shop I have been in whether I purchase something or not.

So much entertainment! It is impossible to see everything in one day. Oh, to only live closer so I could come more often.

Having fun with my sister

Making sure we eat some dinner before we have to leave the village.

My family always has an amazing time here. If you are looking for some fantastic fun with or without your family come visit a place where you can let loose and pretend you are in a whole different era.
