Petmate - Clean Response Swivel Bin & Rake Review and Giveaway - ends 9/24

We have two dogs and taking care of them is a pleasure and a chore for my eight year old. While he loves playing with them and loving them,  one of his least favorite jobs is cleaning up their waste from the yard.  Since one of our dogs is a 75 lb. lab mix , her daily deposits are many and not so small. Our other dog is a  six lb Yorkie and she leaves little deposits. Between them both they add up and have to be dealt with on a regular basis or else it makes it very difficult to walk in the yard for visitors and ourselves.  Seeing the Clean Response Swivel Bin & Rake from the Petmate website, I thought what a great way to make the job easier and quicker for him.

Petmate Clean Response Swivel Bin & Rake consists of a rake and a container with long handles to minimize stooping and padded grips. The two poles came unassembled but threading them together was quick and easy.  Both bin and rack are made of heavy-duty plastic. The bin accepts an ordinary plastic grocery bag as a liner that you attach to two strategically located hooks to hold the bag’s handle loops. You could go without a bag and hose out the bin when the job is finished if you prefer.  Fortunately, I was sent a box of refill bags to last a little while. The dustpan swivels downwards to the ground for easy scooping with the rake. When you are done you take the bag handles off the hook,  tie them, and toss the bag. 

My son scooped in several different areas of the yard and he was able to do a pretty good job. He did find out that it is better to let the waste dry out before raking it in the bin or you get a messy rake. Although, if you do get a messy one, it is easy to rinse off with the hose. Overall, he was happy to get the Clean Response Swivel Bin & Rake now that it makes his job so much easier. I won't even mind using this great clean up tool now that I won't have to bend down.
