My boys have always loved to read so we always made sure to give them books for and about this special time of the year. I liked to just lay them under the tree for them all to find so they understood they were for all of them to enjoy. These four books are the newest ones we have added to our children's library for our youngest son, granddaughter, great niece, and future family members to enjoy.

The Legend of St. Nicholas by Dandi Daley Mackall ($11.19 RV):
Tells the story of a young man named Nicholas, who was moved by the plight of the poor and needy. Nicholas spent his life secretly helping the poor all over the world, giving gifts on Christmas Eve to remind people of the greatest Gift of all, Jesus Christ. This gentle Christmas book introduces the original St. Nicholas and offers inspiration for readers to become cheerful givers themselves. The final pages in the book include fun Father Christmas traditions in other lands. The book about the true story behind the legend of Santa Claus is great for children ages 4-8.

The Christmas Story For Children by Max Lucado, Randy Frazee and Karen Davis Hill ($ 6.99 RV):
This book tells readers about the birth of a special baby whose story is filled with love for us all. Young readers as well as their parents will appreciate the beautiful words and artwork that convey the message that we are loved and cherished. Perfect for ages 5 and up

Yuletide Ice Cube Fair by  ($3.99 RV):
It's that wonderful time of year again---the Yuletide Ice Cube Fair! It's a time of festivity and fun as veggies gather to munch on snow cones, slurp down slushies, and ice skate on the frozen pond. But the greatest part of all is the Ice Cube Carving Contest! The veggies have been busy! They've carved Christmas feasts, trees, angels, and more. Each one is trying to outdo the other in an effort to win the grand prize! But the smallest of all these ice entries is a carving done by Junior Asparagus---a tiny stable with a shepherd on one knee. Kids will discover that it's not what's grand, or bigger, or best that's most important on Christmas---it's Jesus! This book is ideal for ages 4 and up.
The First Christmas Ever by Dennis Jones ($1.99 RV):
A simple retelling of the Christmas story, from the angel’s visit to Mary to the shepherds’ joyful praise of the new born Baby, this small format paperback, The First Christmas Ever is sure to be popular with young readers. Using the vibrant and popular artwork of Dennis Jones, families can share this timeless story of God’s love each holiday season.
This retelling of the Christmas Story is perfect for ages 6-10.

I have always enjoyed reading books to my boys about Christmas. To me it helps to reinforce the reasons behind why we celebrate the birth of our savior. Now that three of them are adults and moved out of our home I miss those special times. I am glad I can still do it with my youngest son, granddaughter, and great neice. All these books are sure to become holiday favorites for all the young readers in your family since they tell about the meaning of Christmas is delightful ways.
