My son and I have been remodeling his new geckos glass aquarium that was last used to house hermit crabs. Chewy.com makes it so easy to find the appropriate items for their new home. So far we have gotten a them a shelter and a terrarium heater, and now the Pangea Magnetic Feeder Gecko Ledge.
The feeder is made with an ultra-durable resin epoxy that has a natural rock ledge look to it hopefully making the little critters feel like they are residing in an environment a little more to their liking. The plastic cup measures 3.5 x 3 x 1 inches and holds about 1/2-ounce. While it can hold up to 65 grams of food we decided to use it for water since my son opted to feed them live crickets and occasionally some live meal worms.
To set up: put the small round external magnet on the glass that is outside of the tank to the feeder that in on the inside of the tank. The magnet allows the food or water to be lifted off the floor of the enclosure. It can hold through a 1/4-inch thick glass enclosure. You can place this handy feeder anywhere on the glass.
We chose the magnet ledge to free up some of the terrarium floor in order to give the geckos a bit more area to run around in. Turns out it was a wise choice considering they have grown a bit in the short time we have had them. Another bonus is finding out that the geckos seem to prefer drinking the water from above rather than off the bottom of the tank.
