GIANTmicrobes® are stuffed animals that look like tiny microbes. They are a fun and educational way to teach someone about the bacteria around us.There are many to choose from, including: Algae, Chickenpox, Giardia, Measles, and Rabies just to name a few.
My son and I both suffer from hay fever and I thought using the Hay Fever Petri Dish from Giant Microbes would provide the perfect way to explain to him that hay fever is about a allergic reaction to the pollen from grasses, trees and weeds. The Petri Dish has a little Ragweed Pollen, Grass Pollen, and a Birch Pollen. Every GIANTmicrobes® comes with the image and information about the real microbe it represents. I gave these to my son for his eighth birthday and his older brothers who were with us celebrating, had a lot of fun looking and laughing at the pictures in the booklet of all the other microbes available. My son plays attack of the pollen's with these cute little microbes.
I think doctors or teachers could use these because they make great learning tools, as well as amusing gifts for anyone with a sense of humor. If you aren't into stuffed animals, they have a new line of vinyl figures and other interesting products that pertain to germs.
