Trixie investigating the Barkbox.
This month's box theme was a puppy picnic basket for the Fourth of July celebrations. It contained a card with an activity card reminding me to take my best friend do do his/her favorite activity after all the feasting was over. In the box was food, drink, and supplements to soothe a dogs firework-induced anxiety.

  • Bowser Beer Beefy Brown Ale: This non-alcoholic, non-carbonated beer is made with a salt free broth, no MSG, and no added fat. It contains real USDA meat and glucosamin for joint health. My dogs love it mixed in their dog kibble. You can also add it to water or crushed ice to cool them off on a hot day.

  • Butcher Shoppe Hickory Smoked Beef Dog Bones: This bones are 100% natural USDA Inspected beef bones from Omah, Nebraska. They are intended for dogs under 18 pounds only and are not for human consumption. Trixie was ecstatic to get these bones and would growl every time 70 pound Sierra would come near here because she does not like to share and she knows that the first chance Sierra gets she will try to steal it from her.

  • Puppy Cake Puptato Chips:  These chips are made with dried not fried, sweet potatoes making them low in fat and high in vitamins. They must be high in flavor because Trixie won't say no to these snacks.

  • Whole Life Tail Mix: These grilled sirloin burgets dog treats are freeze dried, single source proteins with no fillers are made with quality USA meat. They are about 1 inch around and looks like little hamburgers. My dogs didn't feel left out while we were eating our hamburgers.

  • Dale Edgar's Calm K9 Nutri-wafers: Since most canines are terrified of loud noises like fireworks, these wafers that contain omega-3, vitamin B, magnesium, ginger and chamomile help to calm your dogs frightened nerves. These are great for any dog with anxiety issues. Trixie loves to go everywhere with me and she has a problem with loud noises. So before we went to watch the fireworks I followed the instructions and gave her 1/4 of a wafer in the morning and another 1/4 wafer in the evening an hour before the fireworks. She did pretty good staying on my lap and not freaking out but she would occasionally shake a little. She was much better than usual but I think we were too close to where the action was for her to be at total ease. If I would have left her at home I think she would have been fine.

Trying to get to the bones.
Finally enjoying her bone.

Trixie was very happy with all the goodies in her Barkbox this month and Sierra was glad that mom made her share some of the items with her.
