I used to always give my big yellow lab mix, rawhide chews for her teeth when she was a puppy to keep her from destroying our household furniture, kids toys and our shoes. My vet found out and told me that rawhide chews were a choking hazard and that chemicals were used to process the rawhide. I know how important it is for my dogs to be able to chew in order to get their teeth cleaned.
