My thoughts:
I normally watch new movies with my son and make a point to ask him if he has questions, if so we discuss it. I also ask him if he learned anything about the show and I will also point out any issues that he might have missed. In the Amazing Spiderman 2 Discussion Guide the parent will find 5 pages where they can read about these themes: The Nature of Power, Sacrifice, Choices and Destiny, Time is Luck and Life is Precious, Live Your Life and Make It Count, and You are Somebody. The guide uses a bible verse and incidents from the movie to explain each theme and ends with discussion questions for you to ask your child. I have to admit that I would not have thought of all the questions to ask on my own. The guide is a great resource for a parent to use to open the line of communication with their children.
