About Snap Decision:
Sometimes the truth hits hard. Chase Clark just upped his game. As an eighth grader, he scores the chance to play on the varsity football team with his best friend, Tripp. But when a hard hit takes Tripp down, Chase is the only one who knows what really happened. And telling could have serious consequences. Making the right call won’t be easy. Neither will the consequences he’ll face, both with the guys on the team and with the school. What’s the game plan when doing right might means everything else goes very wrong?
My thoughts:
Since my ten year old son is interested in watching football and often plays it with his older brothers, I figured reading about a football story as a summer read would be interesting to him, I am glad to say that he did. I found that the book talks about faith without preaching, learning important life lessons, and making positive choices. I am glad that this is a good way for my 10 year old to build character by learning about finding the strength to do what is right when he feels that everything is going wrong. The back of the book has discussion questions, a glossary of football terms, and a section about understanding concussions. I recently watched a program on television about how dangerous concussions can be so to have someone write about the topic is impressive.
This book is ideal for ages 11-14. Purchase a hard copy of Snap Decision ($15.99) on Zondervan or a Kindle copy ($7.99) on Amazon.
