About "Rumors Of War":

In the post apocalyptic future, Agent Shaw (Ben Davies, Courageous) works for the only surviving government working to bring order to a world full of decay and violence. Shaw offers little mercy to those that would stand in the way of the government’s edict, that everyone submit to an implanted chip that tracks their movements and purchases. He is certain that those “zealots” that would put their belief in God ahead of the beliefs of society, could lead the world back on the road toward destruction. The zealots need to be eliminated. But his faith was challenged when he found a small book in the rubble near one of the “rebel” encampments- the diary of young college student named Roxy (Jennifer Cooper), who was at the epicentre of the chip’s creation years before. She was a young aspiring journalism major whose life took a dark turn when she began researching Mr. Zurn (Eric Roberts, The Dark Knight), the man behind this implanted chip.

My thoughts:

This is a very thought provoking movie that combines two stories in one. It is set in the final days of our future while going back to the "last days" of our present lives. This movie really makes me think about all that is going on in the world today and makes me question the idea about something like it really happening. I see how much people believe what they are being told by the media. My oldest son won't even let me get a chip for my dog since it is too close to the idea of id chips eventually being offered to humans. The characters were interesting and show how people can be blinded by others putting fear into them. This movie shows the power of God and how he can use others to change a person's heart. The DVD is rated pg-13 because of some violence, it has a run time of 89 minutes. It also has a discussion guide that examines these topics; Sacrifice, the World's temptation, forgiveness, God is good, pride, sufferering and I was blind, but now I see. If you like to be entertained with movies about conspiracy theories, mystery, action, suspense, and the end-times then this one is for you.
