About "Trials of the Heart":

Elizabeth Thatcher (Krakow) is an independent, strong-willed teacher who has foregone the life of the big city and found a job, a home (and romance with a handsome Mountie named Jack) in the small frontier town of Coal Valley. But when she learns that her mother has taken ill, she returns to Hamilton, her hometown, with Jack as her escort. Once in the comparably opulent Hamilton, Elizabeth and Jack are confounded by Jack’s ne’er-do-well brother and Elizabeth’s former suitor, Charles Kensington. But it is Elizabeth’s father, William, who drives a wedge between them when he suggests to Jack that Charles would be a better match for his well-bred daughter.

My thoughts:

I loved the watching the first season of  the "When Calls the Heart" series that is seen on the Hallmark Channel. The second season has started and I am super excited to be able to continue viewing the series as each DVD is released.  I enjoy watching Jack & Elizabeth fall in love and getting to know the townspeople. In this episode the trial begins against the mining company and we find out that Mr. Gowen will do whatever it takes to win. Elizabeth's mother is ill so she goes home giving us a chance to learn more about her family. We also meet Elizabeth's good friend, Charles and Jack's  ne’er-do-well brother, Tom. Lee Coulter is a new character who comes to Coal Valley and tells everyone that he plans on opening a sawmill. The stylish clothing that Elizabeth and her sisters wear are very lovely and the Coal Valley scenery is breathtakingly beautiful.
