We are the type of people who love to put salsas and hot sauces on our food for every meal. While we enjoy making our own fresh salsa when the ingredients are in season. In place of fresh salsa we use hot sauces to season with. That means we are always on the lookout for ones we have never tried before. It is fun to visit different towns to see if they carry some that we haven't tried before. Lately life has gotten so busy that we haven't taken a vacation outside of our local area so getting a Pepper Box with three hot sauces that we hadn't tried before sounded like a great idea.  Our first month's box included:

The Flaming Fire tastes sweet and has a nice bite. The bottle says it is good for gator, roasted possum, and smoked snapping turtle but I think I am content using it on scrambled eggs and other dishes where I might enjoy a sweet hot sauce.

Captain Assjack's Minorcan Ghost: this is a citrus based sauce that contains the Ghost Pepper for extra heat. I thought this sauce tasted slightly sweet, with a hint of curry and peppercorns. This is thought to be good on seafood, chicken, and pork. My husband thought it was too spicy but my older son and I found it to be just right.  I like using this hot sauce on everything.

Captain Assjack's Minorcan Gold: This hot sauce is exactly like the Minorcan Gold except that it contains the Datil pepper.  It turns out to be the perfect sweetness and heat for my 11 year old. He really enjoys it on scrambled eggs.
