Emerson Creek Pottery makes natural, handmade, and non toxic, ceramic
housewares in the Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia. Using a Japanese
Sumi-e brush, owner Priscilla Palmer produced the unique technique of applying
natural pigment to an absorbent glaze. Her many original ideas are inspired by
the natural world she dearly loves. Using no stencils or templates, each pattern
is a series of painstakingly planned
strokes that each artist commits to memory by repeating the design till they have it mastered. This makes every
piece of ceramic similar but just a little different.
The 13 different lines of ceramics are ovenproof, microwave and 100% lead free.
You can find lamps, vases, dinnerware, bake-ware, kitchenware, pitchers,
bathroom accessories, Teapots and Tea Sets and much more on their website.
This Honey Pot is from the Tuscan Olive line. The honey pot is beautiful work of art that comes with a wooden dipper. The dipper makes it easy to pour the honey into my tea, toast, or whatever else I plan on using the honey for. Now that I have this beautiful honey pot on my counter, my son is always in the honey jar, leaving a sticky mess around the rim. Fortunately, the pot is very easy to wipe clean and dishwasher safe.
This company has been in business since 1977 and makes the pottery from clay that is made on site before it is placed in a gas kiln.
