In Ring the Bell, Ryan Scharoun plays Rob Decker, a slick, big city sports agent who becomes stranded in a small town while trying to sign a high school baseball superstar. Rob's fast paced lifestyle and win-at-all-costs mindset is in stark contrast to the simple lifestyle and faith of the townspeople. Will Rob have the courage to let faith transform his life?
We get to some Christian music artists like Casting Crowns who have a concert where Mark Hall gives a alter call and Steven Curtis Chapman is the pastor of a church who plants one of the first seeds in Rob. Several former and current Major League Baseball legends are also featured in the film: ESPN analysts John Kruk and Rick Sutcliffe (a former Cy Young Award winner), along with Ben Zobrist.
My youngest son didn't want to watch it because he thought it was something he wouldn't like but once he saw it had to do with baseball he gave it a chance and found that he liked it. We found this heartwarming story of redemption very entertaining and inspiring. I highly recommend this movie as a movie to watch with the family. The music was great and at the end we were rooting for Rob to learn how sometimes the next big thing isn't what you expect.
