About "A Most Noble Heir":

When stable hand Nolan Price learns from his dying mother that he is actually the son of the Earl of Stainsby, his plans for a future with kitchen maid Hannah Burnham are shattered. Once he is officially acknowledged as the earl's heir, Nolan will be forbidden to marry beneath his station.

Unwilling to give up the girl he loves, he devises a plan to elope---believing once their marriage is sanctioned by God that Lord Stainsby will be forced to accept their union. However, as Nolan struggles to learn the ways of the aristocracy, he finds himself caught between his dreams for tomorrow and his father's demanding expectations.

Forces work to keep the couple apart at every turn, and a solution to remain together seems farther and farther away. With Nolan's new life pulling him irrevocably away from Hannah, it seems only a miracle will bring them back together.

My thoughts:

A Most Noble Heir grabbed my attention right from the beginning as I could feel Nolan's excitement about making a life with Hannah, it took me back in time to when I was young and excited to marry my husband. I could also feel the love Nolan has for his mother along with the animosity he feels towards his employer. One thing happens after another that pretty soon I found myself so involved in the drama that putting the book down was impossible. Wondering about what was going to happen next kept me up late into the night. Despite the fact that I don't normally read books as soon as I wake up, I found myself picking it up off the nightstand and not putting it back down until I had finished it.

The character's are engaging and interesting. Iris, the Duchess of Hartford is my favorite character. She is the one who understands that Edward needs some shaking up and she is just feisty enough to do it to heck with social conventions. Both Nolan and Edward figured out that they had to let go of their pride before they lost what was most important to them. Hannah had abandonment issues so she let self pity dictate her courses of action. Eventually they all learn that they have to let go and let God.

It was interesting to find out that the story is based on Susan's great great grandparents. Great book to add to my library to be read again in the future. Purchase a copy on Amazon.
